For whom it is optimal

For tourists who enter Indonesia for up to 30 days inclusive.

Period of validity

Allows you to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days inclusive. After this period, you must leave the country, as this stamp is not renewed. If you wish, you can then re-enter and receive the stamp again. This is the most common way to travel to Kuala Lumpur.

The first and last days of your visit are also included in these 30 days. Even if you have passed an immigration check at 11:55 p.m., that day will be considered a full day. And if you have passed the immigration check when you leave at 00.05am, it will count as the next day.

Each day of delay is fined Rp. 1,000,000 per person. Overstay is paid directly at passport control at the airport and does not take long.

Who’s getting

The free entry rule applies to nationals of 169 countries. These countries do not include Colombia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Libya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, North Korea.

Accordingly, citizens of all former Soviet republics have the right to visa-free entry into Indonesia.

Appearance of the document

Jakarta stamp

This is the default stamp when you enter the country without a visa.

Requirements for issuance

To get one of these stamps, you have to:

- Have a valid passport for at least 6 months from the time you enter Indonesia.

- Have at least one completely blank page in your passport.

- Have confirmation of your departure from Indonesia before end of the deadline (it is not specified whether the reservation is suitable, only the paid ticket is needed). The availability of this confirmation is not always checked.

If the immigration officer suspects that you may somehow violate the conditions of visa-free entry, he has the right to request confirmation that you have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay in Indonesia. You can either show cash or go to an ATM and request a cheque with your balance or show your mobile banking.

Withdrawal procedure

Always pay attention to all stamps with the date of arrival. Sometimes immigration officials are wrong and may put a different type of stamp or stamp with a past date.

The possibility of multiple entries

There’s no such possibility. When you leave Indonesia, the stamp is cancelled and you can enter next time either with a new stamp or visa.

Costs .

The cost of a visa on arrival at the airport for 30 days - $38 or 500 rupiah.

There are ATMs in the hall where you can withdraw cash in rupiah. There is also a terminal. It sometimes works, sometimes not. It’s better not to use it, because it’s a terrible mess. It’s better to withdraw rupiah from an ATM in the hall.

The visa is issued for 30 or 7 days (starting from the day of entry). But visa on arrival for 7 days is issued only for citizens of several neighboring countries. Therefore, it will most likely not apply to you.

Avoid overstaying, i.e. overstaying your visa so that you don’t lose money.

The maximum allowable overstay on a visa is 60 days. Overdue to 60 days is an administrative violation. If your overstay exceeds 60 days, it is a criminal offense and you can pay up to 5 years imprisonment or a fine up to 500,000,000 rupiah.

The Arrival Visa can be extended at the Indonesian Immigration Service once for another 30 days for Rs 500,000. It can be extended on your own. Sponsor (guarantor) or visa agency is not required for this.

If you renew with an agent, you will be charged a fee for agency services by 500,000 rupiah, but you will have less trouble.

Together with the extension, this visa can work for a maximum of 60 days. If you haven’t extended your visa, it will only last 30 days. To stay in Indonesia for 60 days, this visa MUST be extended. Not extended - 30 days from the start of your visa, your overstay will begin.

When your visa expires, you can fly back and forth from Indonesia and get the same visa again upon arrival or stamp. The number of such trips is not yet limited. Most often our fellow citizens fly to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) on a visa-ran.

It is possible that if you fly too often, you will be subject to increased scrutiny during passport control and customs inspection of your belongings. Especially if you fly to Kuala Lumpur for a few hours and return to Bali the same day.

For whom it’s best

Optimal for those who want to move into Bali for 30 to 60 days inclusive.

Who gets it

From representatives of the republics of the former Soviet Union visa on arrival is available only to citizens: Armenia, Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia.

Citizens of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will not receive a visa upon arrival.

Citizens of Israel should obtain a visa in advance at the Consulate of Indonesia. The visa is not glued to the passport. Israelis can fly to Indonesia only through Bali, Jakarta or Surabaya.

Requirements for issuance

The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, (more details).

Formally, according to Timatic rules, to enter Indonesia on arrival (Visa-On-Arrival), you need a return ticket from Indonesia. Officers do not always ask for it, but it is recommended that you have it.

Issuance procedure

Warning! If you want a visa on arrival, you must carefully monitor it, otherwise you will simply put a stamp for 30 days.

At Denpasar airport (Bali) in a large hall with immigration checkpoints you need to buy a visa on arrival. The visa counter on arrival is right in the middle of the hall.

After buying a visa you need to go to the immigration checkpoints and go to a separate Visa-On-Arrival counter - it is on the left side of the hall. As a rule, this counter has quite a few people.

During the immigration check you need to remind the border officer of your visa and make sure that you have the visa you have purchased in your passport! If you do not receive a passport insert, and put a free stamp, then after 30 days you will have to leave Indonesia.

Appearance of the document

The visa is pasted into the passport upon arrival and the border guard marks the date of entry:

Tourist visa (Visa Turis, code 211)

Place of issue

You can get it from the Embassy of Indonesia in any country of the world. You cannot get this visa inside Indonesia.

Costs .

The standard visa fee at the consulate is about $50 (may be slightly more or slightly less depending on the embassy).

For whom it is best suited

For tourists who plan to stay in Indonesia for the period from 2 months to 6 months and are not able or do not want to apply initially for a visa with a sponsor. It is issued if you do not plan to engage in any activities related to the business. The purpose of the visit is tourism.

Period of validity

You will be given a 90-day corridor when your visa is issued. During this period, you must enter Indonesia, otherwise your visa will be cancelled.

The visa is issued for the period from 30 to 60 days and can be extended 4 times each time for 30 days within Indonesia, similarly to a social visa.

To whom is it issued

Citizens of any country in the world.

Appearance of the document

Requirements for issuance

The documents required to apply for tourist visa 211 are slightly different at each consulate. As a rule, they are required.

- Completed application form

- 2 Photos 3.5x4.5cm

- Copy of your passport (photo page and entry stamp page of the country where you get your visa)

- Passport (valid for at least 6 months from entry into Indonesia)

- The ticket that brought you to the country to apply for a visa

- The ticket that will take you to Indonesia

- Ticket to leave Indonesia at the end of your visa (not always required and sometimes suitable reservation).

- Bank statement on availability of sufficient funds (not always required)

- Confirmation of hotel reservation in Indonesia (not always required)

- Visa fee

The period for obtaining an embassy visa depends on each embassy, but do not expect to receive a visa in one day. You do not need a sponsor to obtain a tourist visa, but you will need one to extend it.

On the one hand, the advantage compared to a social visa is that you don’t need a sponsorship letter to get a tourist visa. But on the other hand, at the consulate you can enter the hotel as a sponsor with the booking document you have provided. And then it can be more difficult to extend this visa to Bali.

If you want to get a visa that allows you to stay in Indonesia for six months, it is better to begin organizing immediately. Or, before applying to the consulate, check with the visa agency the peculiarities of obtaining a tourist visa at the consulate where you are going.

Read about the difference between a tourist visa and a social visa.

It is extended 4 times each time for 30 days.

The cost of each visa extension including immigration fee is Rp 800,000 - Rp 1,050,000 if you renew with an agent. The advantage of this extension is that you will only have to come to the immigration office once at the first extension for fingerprints. The rest of the extensions will be done without your participation. If you extend at a good agency, the agency will send a courier to pick up and bring your passport back.

An extension will cost Rp 500,000 if you find a non agency sponsor for the extension and they will travel with you to apply for free. This means that in this case you will only have to pay the immigration fee. But you will also have to come to the immigration office 3 times - to apply for the documents, to pay for the extension and to collect your passport.

Renewal procedure

As a rule, most tourists are extended with the help of visa agents because a sponsor (guarantor) is needed for the extension.

The order of extension of tourist visa 211 is the same as the order of extension of social visa. And the cost of tourist visa 211 extension is exactly the same as the cost of social visa extension.
